DJ Russell
David or “DJ” as he is known, designed both courses at Archerfield Links. Turning professional
in 1973, he has had many European Tour successes and has now also achieved his first win on the
Seniors tour. His experience and design flair make him one of the up-and-coming course designers,
with Archerfield Links his most distinguished to date. Another career highlight was acting as
assistant to Ryder Cup-winning Captain Ian Woosnam in 2006.
Catriona Matthew – 2009 British Open Champion
Catriona has teamed up with Archerfield Links to become the Club's representative on the
Ladies' US and European Tours. Following a distinguished amateur career, Catriona in
winning the 2009 Women's British Open became the first ever Scottish lady to win a major.
Alongside this famous victory she has won two LPGA titles, three ELPGA titles and is a
five-time Solheim Cup player. Each year Catriona hosts the Archerfield Links Ladies'
Day, details of which are available within the members' area.
